Jesus Loves Me This I Know

January 23, 2008 · 3 Comments

Yesterday Barry and I found out that his grandpa is in the hospital with fluid and a blood clot in his lungs. He has to be hooked up to an oxygen pump because he is unable to breathe by himself.

This man, at Christmas time, was passing out gifts, and playing with the kids. Every time I have ever been around him, when it isn’t a holiday or birthday, He is working on something.
It is so hard to grasp the fact the in one day people can go from perfectly healthy to unable to breathe on their own. At times like these I sometimes think “why?”

I was reminded today of the story of Job. Specifically God’s response to Job in chapter 38:

3 Brace yourself like a man;
I will question you,
and you shall answer me.

4 “Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation?
Tell me, if you understand.

5 Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know!
Who stretched a measuring line across it?

6 On what were its footings set,
or who laid its cornerstone-

7 while the morning stars sang together
and all the angels shouted for joy?

8 “Who shut up the sea behind doors
when it burst forth from the womb,

9 when I made the clouds its garment
and wrapped it in thick darkness,

10 when I fixed limits for it
and set its doors and bars in place,

God told the Ocean where to stop, He placed every star in the sky, He laid the earths foundation! So why to I find myself questioning???

God can handle my little life! Yet He understands, is patient, and still loves me when I just don’t understand. I am so incredibly thankful for that this amazing God who created the sun, the amazing sunrises and sunsets, stars, the moon, the ocean…the whole earth, cares for me and loves me. The amazing God who sent His only son to live a life fill of ridicule and persecution, and then a death that none of us can fathom!

Having flesh ripped of your body, having thorns piecing your head, and nails piecing through your hands! He didn’t not wondering why, He know.  His response was simply:

”Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing. And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.“~Luke 23:34

NO GREATER LOVE! A love that WINS!

It still breaks my heart and boggles my mind! But it gives me a hope, a hope that He truly loves me and will always that care of me!

Please continue to pray for Barry’s grandpa, unfortunately we are not sure if he has a relationship with God. So just be praying for wisdom, and for God to open up doors for us to talk to him. Also for healing!

Thank you so much!
